arts wave devon was a three year arts project supporting people to discover and engage with their own creativity and improve their wellbeing.
The arts wave devon consortium is a partnership project between Daisi, Dance in Devon, the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and Wolf and Water, working with Devon County Council.
Aiming to nurture participants creativity amongst friends, in an encouraging environment.
By supporting participants to:
• learn new techniques and build upon existing skills
• discover their own creative ability and enjoy the process
• try something new and share experiences with others
• collaborate on creative projects, short or long-term
arts wave devon worked within communities to design varied programmes of opportunities, with a particular focus towards supporting groups working with children and young people, older people and people with disabilities.
arts wave devon delivered three strands of work across the county during it’s three year period.
Pop up events at a festivals, in a school playgrounds or at local town fairs POP-up events were designed to invite the public to be spontaneous and get stuck in. Our POP-up activities ranged from an impromptu dance class to creating a piece of print art.
Light Touch projects that provided short term sustained series of workshops in a variety of locations from youth clubs to memory cafes, delivering from dance and drama to film and visual arts.
Deep Impact projects provide a long term sustained programme of work within a community. Working with a vide range of groups, venues artists and organisations these projects were designed in consultation with the communities with the aim of strengthening local arts networks and resources.
